What deference between 100 x 100 pixel image created on MS Windows and Panther OSX ? When I resize a photo file (a JPEG file) in to 100 x 100 pixel on panther I got 38 KB in size, when I did it using MS Windows I got 4KB in size, it’s kind a strange, the deference is so big, actually it’s not matter the size of file but why the difference is so big ?
After couple time trying , I finally found what the file deference so big, the answer is EXIF data. I used GIMP and Adobe Photoshop on Panther OSX both of software produce file size in same size. Then I tried GIMP, but I am not include the EXIF data into resized image (on advance option when save as JPG Image), the result : file size is reduced dramaticalyi, I got 4 KB for 100 x 100 image file using panther OSX same as I got on MS Windows (using GIMP).
So don’t include EXIF when you resizing a Photo Image on Panther OSX. I just try it on Panther (10.3.9) OSX, don’t know for other version
